What ball size goes with this?

The ball must match the size stamped on the coupler EXACTLY. A 1-7/8 inch coupler will sit down over a 2 inch ball and appear to latch, and it will come off on the road. A 2 inch coupler will not close on a 2-5/16 inch ball at all, which is the safer of the two failures.

The capacity stamped on your own ball and shank governs and is frequently lower than the figures here. Torque the ball nut to the maker specification, which is one of the most commonly skipped steps on a new hitch.

Do you need weight distribution at this tongue weight?

The RATING is on a sticker or plate on the receiver itself, and on many vehicles it is well below the class ceiling because the frame, the mounting points and the vehicle are what actually carry the load.

The same applies to the ball mount, the ball, the shank and the pin. Every one of them carries its own rating, and the whole chain is limited by the lowest rated part in it. A class V receiver with a 5,000 lb ball mount in it is a 5,000 lb hitch.
