Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to data when you use towingcalc.com. The short version: we do not ask you for anything, we do not sell anything about you, and the third parties involved are analytics and affiliate links.
What we collect directly
Nothing, unless you give it to us. There are no accounts and no login on this site.
- Calculator inputs stay in your browser. The weights and measurements you type into a calculator are processed entirely on your own device and are never transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
- If you use the contact or partner form, your name, email address and message are delivered to us by email through FormSubmit so we can reply.
- If you request a download, your email address goes to a Google Forms response sheet so we can send it. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies and records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. We also record when an outbound product link is clicked, along with which product and which page, so we can tell which pages actually help people. We do not receive your name or email address from analytics, and we do not attempt to identify individuals.
Affiliate links
Product links on this site are affiliate links. When you follow one, Amazon receives the referral and may set its own cookies subject to its own privacy policy, over which we have no control. See our affiliate disclosure.
What we never do
- Sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- Send unsolicited marketing to an address collected from a contact form.
- Store your calculator inputs, your vehicle details or your weights.
Your choices
You can block cookies in your browser, use an ad or tracking blocker, or enable Do Not Track, and the calculators and content will all continue to work. To have an email address removed from our download list, or to ask what we hold, write to us through the contact page.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions go to the contact page.
