How much pin weight should a fifth wheel carry?

Is pin weight the same thing as GVWR?
No. GVWR is the maximum the trailer itself may weigh, fully loaded, on its own wheels. Pin weight is the portion of that loaded weight transferred onto the truck through the hitch. A trailer can be well under its GVWR and still carry a pin weight outside the conventional 15 to 25 percent band if it is loaded unevenly.
