Conventional travel trailer
A bumper pull hitched to a receiver behind the tow vehicle rear axle. Needs weight distribution and sway control as it gets heavier, because the trailer hangs behind the axle like a pendulum.

Fifth wheel
Coupled to a hitch in the truck bed, over the rear axle. Needs no weight distribution and no sway control at all, and needs a great deal more payload, because pin weight runs 15 to 25 percent rather than 10 to 15.
